ELIXIR-UK is the UK Node of ELIXIR, the European research infrastructure for life science data. We are a network of UK research-performing organisations: members deliver the work, and the Node connects them, advocates for them and helps set common standards.
This section sets out the visual and verbal cues that make ELIXIR-UK recognisable across the materials our members and Coordination Office produce – letterheads, slide decks, social posts, webstories, posters and reports. It also lists the working files anyone in the community can use.
Principles
Three principles shape every choice in this section.
We point at the network, not at ELIXIR-UK as an institution. The identity makes the connections between member organisations visible. ELIXIR-UK as a body has its own coordinating role, but the people doing the science are the members.
Important: We hold a dual identity. To funders we present as a Research Infrastructure; to our members and partners we operate as a distributed network. Both framings are true, and the visual and verbal style has to hold both without one cancelling out the other.
The work belongs to its authors. Names, institutions and concrete contributions sit in the foreground. ELIXIR-UK appears as the byline rather than the headline. See Voice → Credit where credit is due for how this lands in writing.
